What They’re Saying About

Baggy Zero Four

Only a former FAC could describe Rusty Naille's experience so knowingly. Well told; the agony and the ecstasy, the frustration and the fulfillment, the misery and the camaraderie is all there. Since the airborne FAC of the Vietnam era is an extinct species, this work of realistic fiction is a valuable contribution to the preservation of the history of the FAC. Thanks for a good book, Rocky.

For an action minded reader, Baggy 04, is a fast moving realistic "airborne-point-of-the-spear" combat tour of duty in Vietnam that holds the reader spellbound through its entire 175 pages. This fiction is so factual that it could actually have happened, as only a superb writer, who has been there and done that can portray. A 5-Star Piece of Work.

This may have been fiction but it really depicted the daily life of the Air Force FAC pilots, crew chiefs and radio operators. Baggy 04 brought back many memories, good and bad, also thoughts of those that I served with.

A definite read for any family member that had a relative that served in the FAC organization and wondered what they did in the Vietnam.

I just finished reading 'Baggy Zero Four', and I am very glad that I did.

Though at the onset I expected action-packed, edge-of-your-seat air combat adventure, which is what the preview indicated, I found a lot more.

I found incredible writing that was almost melodic and lyrical at times, to the point where it had me wishing the author would write a love story too.

Overall, this is a richly told story, with great, unique characters and dialogue. And the ending is so touching.

Thank-you for the opportunity to witness and experience vicariously what it was to be a great FAC in Vietnam.
